Character & Mental Toughness – Stay the Path Ascending

Some we can’t touch
they are
too fractured
too oblivious
too far gone
or too entrenched in conceit
But there are others
many others
who will embrace either
light or darkness
who vacillate the precipice of moment
their descent initiated with a breezes push
never to return or only
to waste precious time
in arduous journey rising from their personal abyss
but if an effort were to be made
to point up, to say “it can be done”
and “you are one who can do it”
a life can change
another added to those who have surmounted
another voice to say
“up here”
“come join us”
“it’s so worth the effort”
and in turn for those first steps upwards
to be watched by so many more
and then further inspire
and if amongst the slips
lessons taught and realized
“step here with courage” and the such
a character will be forged
to stay the path ascending
then less tragedy and heartache
aside the ones who will never hear
nor see
what could be
with an effort made
and thus sustained
to shun the easy downhill path
ever instead to rise upwards
towards the sun drenched peaks
of consequence well done
